Dolores Ann Strong

Mason, Michigan

Born November 18, 1932 in Ortonville, MI to Orla and Clara (Nicklas) Dawley, passed away September 22, 2011, at the age of 78. She was employed for 25 years at the Michigan State University Athletic Ticket Office. One of the first women to hold the position of Athletic Ticket Manager at the collegiate level, she served in that position for 14 years before her retirement in January, 1988. Her love for MSU was only second to her love for her family. In retirement her passion turned to creating quilts for just about everyone she knew and her handiwork will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years Robert Strong in 2007. Surviving are her sister, Elaine Teare of Myrtle Beach, SC, children Teresa (John) Donaldson of Okemos, Mark Strong, and Timothy (Kay) Strong both of Mason, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, October 1 from 1-4 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing.
