Domingo was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1977. He attended school in Lansing and Perry and achieved his GED. He lived and worked around Michigan for most of his life, briefly moving to Mississippi until he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Domingo will be remembered fondly by family and friends as a loving, accepting, and playful father who enjoyed games with his children and enthusiastically supported their interests and passions. Among these memories will be his recent recognition as a “cheer dad” by the coaches of daughter Iliana’s cheerleading team at Haslett Middle School.
He was a lover of food, especially Mexican food, who truly appreciated a good chorizo taco. He enjoyed cooking, which was evident in the vast selection of seasonings in his kitchen. He was an avid gamer and a fan of electronic music and anime. He also loved dragons. He was a gifted artist whose drawings were full of whimsy and emotion.
He is survived by his children, Keegan, Iliana, and Dresden; his mother, Patricia Alvarado; and his siblings Isaac Alvarado, Valerie Fox, Sheila Winner and Anthony Strout. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alvarado.
Domingo’s friends and family will honor him at a memorial party at a later date. Condolence messages may be sent in care of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823.
