Don Austin of Haslett, MI, died at the age of 77 after a long illness. Don grew up in Webberville, MI then served in the Marines. He returned to the Lansing area, worked for the State of Michigan and Michigan Commission for the Blind for over 30 years. Don enjoyed birdwatching, bowling, reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife Barb and their cats. He and Barb enjoyed many trips to Frankfort (Crystal Lake) and Lake Leelanau. Don always had a positive attitude and was a kind, caring man who will be greatly missed.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alice Austin, and sister Barbara Hath. He is survived by his loving wife Barb and their two cats Cheeto and Colby Jack. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon (Lyle) Hath, Carol (Ron) Kuch, Kathy Schultz, Debra Albin (James Smith); his brother Dan Austin (Wendy Kottong) and many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to all of Don's caregivers at Ingham County Medical Care Facility (Dobie Road), and Sparrow Hospice.
