Age 87, died December 11, 2011, born July 6, 1924 in Detroit, MI, son of Walter and Alice (Friedrich) McFarlane. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Debret; his son, Douglas, and his special friend, Alice Slusarzyk. Surviving are his son, David (Charlene Vanacker); brother, Ted (Margrit); and sister, Janet (Jack) MaCris.
A veteran of WWII, he served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Charrette DD581. He worked at the Wayne County Road Commission for several years. He loved to dance, attending ballroom dances throughout the U.S. with Alice.
Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E Grand River Ave, East Lansing on Saturday, January 14, from 2:00-3:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.
