Dorothy was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 28, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irma (Neddermeyer) Cant and her loving husband, Donald K. Tyler Jr.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved family: daughter, Donna (Tom) Haag; son, David Tyler (Karen); grandson, Lincoln Haag and precious cat, Cecil.
Dorothy (Dottie) was a force of nature -- her mind was a perpetual “to-do list”! She loved children and was a speech and language therapist in the Southfield Public Schools before thoroughly enjoying motherhood.
In later years, she loved gardening, spending time with her Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters, cheering on the Detroit Red Wings and her Alma Mater – the University of Michigan Wolverines!! She and Don enjoyed summer vacations at their home in Harbor Springs and also being Snowbirds in Siesta Key.
Heartfelt gratitude to all of Dorothy’s special, talented, generous, kind, compassionate and loving caregivers at the Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
Private family services will be held.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials for Dorothy can be made in her honor to the charity of your choice or in her name to the Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
GO BLUE!
