Passed away on March 11, 2015 at the age of 90. Dr. Horvath is survived by his wife, Magdolina Horvath; daughters, Martha (Mark) Aben, Annette (Michael) Stevens, Dorothy (John) Engstrom and Mary (Todd) Pride; sons, Francis Horvath and Peter (Theresa) Horvath; grandchildren, Miklos, Jessica, Andrea, Steven, Christopher, Andrew, Haley, Taylor, Mackenzie, Peter, Nicollette and Ben; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Christopher, Nathan, Ruby and Wyatt; brother, George Horvath.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Gizella Petz and Maria Szalancy.
Dr. Horvath was born in Csorna, Hungary where he met his wife, Magdolina. They were married on March 15, 1952. After leaving Hungary in 1957, when the Russians invaded Hungary, they settled in East Lansing. They built their home there in 1962, where they raised their six children. He was a physician in Internal Medicine and was in private practice from 1968 until his retirement in 1996. In their retirement they enjoyed their time in Toronto, Canada, listiening to classical music, going to the Wharton Center, but more importantly being with the family.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton Street, East Lansing, MI 48823 on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Mark Inglot presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass.
