Elaine Ann Poshedly

Elaine worked for eight years in the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at Michigan State University. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading, and spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with young children. Elaine had a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her children: Marilyn (Dave) Ratermann, Mike Poshedly, Laura (Ron) Kalchik, and Steve (Kelli) Poshedly; her grandchildren: Stephanie (Brady) O’Leary, Andrea (Connor) O’Rear, Mike (Maggie) Poshedly, and Hannah Coleman; and her great-grandchildren: Oliver, Leland, Soren, Miles, and Giavonna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Poshedly; her daughter, Karen Rose; and her sisters, Joan and Marian Kravets.

A visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, Michigan. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the same location. The Rite of Committal will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2520 West Willow Street, Lansing, Michigan.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elaine's neighbors and friends for the care, cards, visits, and phone calls over the years. They brought much joy to her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish.
