

Eldon died peacefully in Lansing, Michigan on April 21, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born September 16, 1931 in Detroit. Eldon was very active in his youth. He was a record keeper for his Boy Scouts of American Troop in Dearborn and worked hard in the family’s “Victory Garden” during the war years. When the family moved to Buckley, he was a member of the Future Farmers of American and 4-H. He was the big brother to his four younger siblings and mentored them with love. After graduation from High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and quickly earned the rank of Sergeant. He eventually served in combat zones in Korea and became good friends with many of the Korean People. He was bestowed a beautiful gift from them in recognition of their friendship and his compassionate concern. He also served in various administration positions at the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco. After leaving the army, he attended Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City and continued on to Wayne State University to receive his Degree in Business Administration. Eldon started his business career with Manufacturers National Bank as a Teller and worked his was up to Manager of the Stock & Bond Division, handling major accounts such as the Ford Motor Company Stock Fund. Because of his experience with securities, he joined the treasury department in the late 60s as head of the Pension fund. In the early 70s, Eldon founded the Michigan State Hospital Finance Authority, which provided state funding for the construction and development of medical facilities throughout Michigan. This entity was used a model for other similar state authority’s throughout the US. Among his many accomplishments, he was a financial consultant and advisor to a wide variety of industries nationwide. He also provided invaluable guidance to his devoted and grateful son in the founding and operations of World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation, which was publicly held for 25 years with shareholders throughout the world. Eldon had a life-long passion for reading, which garnered him a wealth of knowledge. He is survived by his son, Paul (Deborah); grandson, Jordan (Fang); brothers, Delbert (Helen), Dale (Marilyn), and Dwight (Marge); sister, Charlene (Richard); many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 6pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing.
