He was a graduate of East Lansing High School (2013), where he participated in soccer and track. He was currently attending MSU and was expected to graduate May 2019 with a degree in Advertising Management.
Evangelos loved to travel, enjoyed hiking, camping, biking, and hanging out with family and friends. He always had a smile that would light up a room no matter how he was feeling. His big heart exuded compassion and generosity to all.
Proud of his Greek heritage, he was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where he served as an altar boy for many years.
Preceded in death by his grandfather, Evangelos Tzumakas, he is survived by his parents; sister, Antigoni Tzumakas (Noah Assefa); grandparents, Antigoni Tzumakas of Larissa, Greece and Gregory and Effie Spiridakos and Godmother, Betsy Dale. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and Evangelos’ beloved cat, Richard, also survive.
Visitation at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw St., Lansing, Thursday at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing.
