Earth lost and heaven gained a wonderful husband, father, man and friend. Frank was born on August 26, 1952 and died on February 5, 2012 at age 59 after a 4-month battle with cancer. He was a 1970 graduate of Gabriels High School in Lansing and received his BS degree from Spring Arbor University.
Frank was passionate about the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt and was a member of Barton City Hunt Club. He was a lifelong recreational softball player, a beach lover and sport enthusiast. Frank enjoyed helping friends and family with home projects, car repairs and building deer camp. He was a master griller and enjoyed cooking for his children and guests. Frank loved his job as an engineer for General Motors especially his latest project, the Cadillac CTS. He will be remembered for his kind heart, generous nature and easygoing disposition. Frank will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Cricket); children, Bethany (Ryan) Stecovich, Daniel, Katie, Christopher and grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob. He is also survived by sisters, Catherine (Richard) Morris-Nelson, Barbara Trierweiler, Margaret (Richard) Locke, Patricia (Dan Talhelm) Degnan and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Elizabeth Jane and brother, Thomas.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 9, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Church and Student Center, 327 MAC Ave, East Lansing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. There will visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan United Conservation Clubs, PO Box 30235, Lansing, MI 48909 or blood and monetary donations may be made to the American Red Cross, Mid-Michigan Chapter, PO Box 30101, Lansing, MI 48909.
