Frank Edward Schehr passed away on July 3, 2019. Frank was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 21, 1947. He attended Moeller High School, and then went on to Miami of Ohio University. He was drafted into the Army after graduating. For the next 3 years, he served in Germany at the Army’s Criminal Investigations Division Laboratory. He joined the Michigan State Police in 1973 in the Forensic Division. After working in several divisions, he was the Director of the East Lansing Laboratory in 1993. He served on the board of several professional societies. He retired in 1999. He enjoyed his next venture, teaching Chemistry at both LCC and MSU for over 10 years. The last career was his favorite. He loved every minute of watching granddaughter, Lily with his wife Alice four days a week for 5 years.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Alice, daughter, Chelsea Beckman, son in law Steve Beckman, and Granddaughter, Lily Alice Beckman. His brother, Patrick Schehr (sister in law, JoAnne), Sister Mary Speed (brother in law David Speed) and several nieces and nephews, all live in the Cincinnati area. Frank’s retirement was full of travel, reading, and a general love of life. He will be remembered as a kind, generous, and funny man. We will miss him forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 18 at the University Club of Lansing, from 6-9P.

So sad to learn that Frank's joyous presence is gone from this life. He always had an intelligent, witty and compassionate word to share to lift my spirits. His work stories were legendary. Keeping Alice and Chelsea in my prayers for comfort.
