George Franklin Hagy, 81, of Bath, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013. George was born July 31, 1931 in Cranberry, West Virginia to Fielden and Ruth Hagy. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. George retired after 30 years of service with General Motors. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his friends and family. He was also a long time member of Lakeside Chapel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo and his second wife, Willie Mae.
George is survived by his children, Angela (Mike) Geiger, George (Jean) Hagy and Buck (Heidi) Hagy; step-children, Joellen Purser, Kay (Bob) Beher, Randell (Pam) Purser and Renee (Nick) Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 great step-children. Also surviving is his brother, Tom (Lois) Hagy and sister, Pat Jury. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 21, 2:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, with Rev. Tom VanDyke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rose Cemetery in Bath where military honors will be rendered.
