Dear Christopher and Family –

We regret we’ve been out of town the last few days and missed the visitation. Our sincere condolences to the Brazil family.

Jim and Gerry were friends for about 30 years.  Cars, boats, lunches, debates, R. E. Olds Museum, Rotary.  Gerry was a dedicated public servant at the Department of Education, and to his community.  A fun friend, always a great conversationalist, well informed and firm in his convictions.  Our routine lunches were always looked forward to, and I had to be ready!  We know for sure that Gerry enjoyed life to its fullest until the last few years.  He will be missed very much by his wide circle of friends.

I worked with Jerry for many years at the Michigan Department of Education where he was Director of Personnel.  I very much respected him and he gave me some good advice.  He was a very intelligent person and did a very good job.

We are so sorry for your loss.  I will always have cherished memories of Gerry's (Tiny) time in the Flint Hills. The chili feeds,  touring the Flint Hills with him and (Uncle) Phil and most of all our on-air discussions.  He was my number one listener.  From the "Finally Friday" song to the ratchet strap guy, I could always count on him to bring additional content to the show.  He will surely be missed my dear friend.

My deepest sympathies to all of Gerry’s family.  I met him through Rotary and always appreciated his wise input into the club discussions and his welcoming ways. He will be missed.  May the sharing of memories bring smiles in this time of mourning. 

I first met Gerry at the end of a vintage race event at Road America. Quickly found that we  shared many common interests, particularly vintage cars and food, especially BBQ.  He was always well informed and enjoyable to be around..  We had lots of good times together.  He obviously cared very much about his wife and children.
I already miss him very much.

My sincere condolences to Gerry's family.  I first met Gerry when he was at the Dept. of Education and I was a budget analyst for the Senate Fiscal Agency responsible for the Dept.'s budget.  Gerry was a gentleman and was always very helpful and shared of his extensive knowledge.  Then I had the pleasure of meeting him again when Iwas invited to join the OACs lunch group.  It was then that we discovered a shared love of all things car and of food.  He will be greatly missed.
