Born July 15, 1941 in Bogota, Colombia to Jorge and Magdalena Paramo, passed away Wednesday, April 25 at the age 70. Ginette completed two years of college in which she studied physical therapy. She was devoted to her family and considered her greatest accomplishment raising three daughters as she managed the family horse breeding farm. Ginette was a member of St. Martha Parish, she volunteered in the community as a docent for the Kresge Art Museum, and was a past president of the Assisium League for St. Lawrence Hospital. Ginette loved the performing arts, both locally and abroad. She also loved nature and believed wholeheartedly in protecting the environment and did what she could to help. Ginette was an avid tennis player and participated in a league. Her hobbies were gardening, quilting, reading and traveling. Ginette had a sincere kindness about her and she was a wonderful cook. Ginette is survived by her husband Jorge Gomez, MD; daughters, Diana (Tarek Hassan, MD) Gomez-Hassan, MD of Ann Arbor, Ginette Gomez, DO of Grosse Pointe and Ana Maria (Daniel) Murphy of Middleton, WI; 9 grandchildren and siblings, Jorge Paramo, Luis Fernardo Paramo, Maria Victoria Rubio and Ivan Paramo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, at 11a.m. at St. Martha Parish, 1100 W. Grand River Ave., Okemos, with the Rev. Jonathan Wehrle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing.
