I always enjoyed seeing Glada when she played the organ at the Holy Cross 4:00 mass. I sat near the organ and loved to watch her hands on the keys and her feet on the pedals.  I can remember applauding for her in celebration of her Christmas birthday.  It always brought smiles to people's faces when she occasionally broke into a lively rendition of the MSU fight song at the end of Mass.  The picture here on the guest book is beautiful, but she was also beautiful at 100.  So happy our lives met on this journey, and my deepest sympathies to all of you.

My parents (Howard & Janice) knew Glada while working at MSU and they really adored and loved her.  Dad worked at the MSU Alumni Chapel for several years (deceased in 1988). I heard many stories about her wonderful music and how he not only listened but sang along and "danced around" as she "practiced". (Sometimes with curlers in her hair and before the wedding - he'd remind her they were still there! :)  So cute!) 

She frequently played one of his favorite songs for him - "Edelweiss".  She was a real blessing to my Dad - and Mom!

I was blessed to have met her several times over the years and was very sorry to hear she passed away.  Such a kind, wonderful, lively, and fun-loving lady who could play such beautiful music - like no one else!  

I know she will be greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her.  My deepest heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. God Bless and comfort each of you with the great memories you've shared with her.

I'm so terribly sorry for the loss of Glada. She was such a wonderful, loyal friend. I admired her tremendously, for her talent and character, her spunk, determination, dedication and independence. She was my role model! Besides leading music together for many Masses and weddings together over the years, we had many wonderful visits. I remember fondly the ribs she served for dinner once, marinated with French dressing, so simple and yet delicious and fabulous. She not only taught me a lot about music, she taught me a trick or two in cooking too. And my daughters received baby and full-size blankets she knitted. Her friendship meant so much to me and my whole family. Every time we got together, she never forgot to ask about the girls by name. Her memory was so sharp, better than mine! She often mentioned what you did for her and took pride in having close family that cared about and cared for her. She was very proud of and fond of her grand children. She remembered exactly who was doing what, where! To me, she would live forever. Truly, even though she's in heaven now, she does live on in my mind forever. God Bless You.

Glada was a treasure!  What a dear friend she was to our family, and time spent with her was always lively and joyful. Best memories include her playing organ for both my wedding and my sister's, and having her hold my newborn daughters when visiting East Lansing. Today's service was beautiful, and it was so good to see the Quinn family and so many of Glada's friends.

Glada played weddings that I officiated at MSU Alumni Chapel .from 1985-1994. Praise God for her good long life!

As a very young person Glada spent hours working with me as I practiced for the next Mass. I an so saddened by her death. I hope that one day we can team up again and play with the choirs of heaven. S he was the best music teacher I ever had and we became firm friends. The best.

Glada and I played music together at the 4pm Saturday mass at Holy Cross.  She really worked hard with me on my violin solo, "Ave Maria".  She also played at our wedding.  Everytime I hear "Ave Maria" I will fondly think of her..

I have many fond memories of working alongside Glada at the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel.  She filled that organ with life!  I remember her wonderful sense of humor and her sweet personality.  I always knew that when Glada showed up in her favorite dress that was robin's egg blue, we were in for a joyful day.  She often played show tunes and the MSU fight song by the marrying couples' request, but she loved the classics.  It was from her that I learned the titles of many traditional wedding songs and many composers' names like Lowengren and Pachelbel, whom she spoke of like old friends.  I enjoyed hearing stories about her family and her younger self, from this I learned how one's life can be filled with such love and vigor. Mrs. Quinn was the organist for my wedding at the MSU Alumni Chapel in 1988.  I will always cherish her rendition of the MSU Fight Song on a pipe organ! What a fun memory!

To the dear family of a woman I have heard wonderful things about.   I am sorry for your loss.  I know Glada left an impression on those around her (I hear daughter Ellie and my grandchildren speak of her fondly, and know her passing leaves a void and she will be missed.) I trust the good memories of an apparent life well lived will help to sustain you during this time and may God's peace be with you, may he bless and keep you all.  Heaven has gained an angel and I imagine she is now playing sweet music in heaven!
