Glada died at home Monday morning August 5, 2013 at the age of 100 with family by her side. Born Christmas Day, 1912 to Minnie Jane Dewitt and William Henry Harrison Brown. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul N. Quinn; siblings, Chester, Laura, Robert and Leona; son, Anthony Friesl. She is survived by sister-in-law, Lydia Brown; daughter-in-law, Barbara Friesl; daughter Maribeth Quinn and son, Patrick (Jennifer) Quinn. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Colleen Friesl, Anthony (Julie) Friesl, Joseph (Jennifer) Friesel, Amy (John) Phillips, Patrick (Ana) Quinn, Mary Quinn and many beloved great grandchildren.
Glada, a gifted musician, played on live radio in Chicago at the age of 10 and continued playing masses until the age of 95. She loved her friends, good food, flowers (especially Iris), playing cards, family and holidays. Glada was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Society. She was a beautiful person who made the world around her a nicer place.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing with the Monsignor George C. Michalek officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
