
Howard Lewis Walker Jr, 95, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on March 28, 2024, in East Lansing, Michigan. Born on November 26, 1928, in Birmingham, Alabama, Howard was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Howard is survived by his brother Richard Walker, children Gregory Walker (Tamara) and Cynthia (Walker) Thrush, grandchildren Gregory Walker Jr, Ryan Walker (Amanda), and John Thrush, and his great-grandchildren Carter Walker, Cayden Walker, Brianna Walker, and Joy Thrush.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Lucille Mary Walker, his parents Howard Lee Walker and Doris (Childs) Walker, and his siblings Barbara (Walker) Diehl and James Walker.
Howard attended Lansing Eastern High School. He dedicated his career to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in the department of engineering, eventually rising to the position of supervisor. His commitment and passion for his work left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Outside of his professional life, Howard found joy in golfing and was an active member of several golf leagues. He also cherished his time spent snowmobiling in northern Michigan, finding solace and excitement in the great outdoors.
Howard Lewis Walker Jr will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
