Hugh C. Sloane

Passed away June 15, 2014 at the age of 91. Hugh was born June 27, 1922 in Allen, KY to Canton R. and Bess (Shephard) Sloane. He was a resident of the Lansing area since 1946 and was employed with the J. W. Knapp Co. for 28 years. He served his country during WWII in the Army and the Air Corp and was a member of the Haslett Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl in 1952. Surviving are his spouse of 70 years, Naurine (married April 8, 1944); children, Annette (Donald) Al Bro, Mark (Michelle) Sloane and Marla Sloane Emerson; five grandchildren, Ryan Chambers, Randy (Becca) Chambers, Stephanie (Brett Pearce) Sloane, Seth Emerson and Cameron (Tina) Emerson and five great-grandchildren, Annabel, Cooper, Ainsley and Austin Chambers, and Eliza Emerson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, 7:00 pm at Haslett Community Church, 1427 Haslett Road, Haslett, MI. The family will receive friends at the church from 5-7 pm prior to the service. Military honors will follow the service at the church.
