Born February 28, 1926 in Lansing, MI, son of Frank R. and Josephine (Leach) Goodrich, died October 13, 2012 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joe Dargis and Carl Dargis; 2 sisters, June Kohlmas and Mary Michlich; and a grandson, Timothy Schaefer, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Rose; daughter Rozanne (Guy) VanDeventer; son Christopher M. (Leslie) Goodrich; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Lovaski, Dawn Mothersall, Sally (John) Pick, and Diane (Gordon) Sundy; many nieces and nephews.
Jack served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 12 and 40/8. After the war Jack met his wife Rose and they married in 1946. He was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years when he went to work with his son, Chris, at Goodrich Builders Co. Jack was always starting new adventures and opened up an antique business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. The outdoors brought him peace. He loved being around people and will be missed by his loving family and all who knew him.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Mark Inglot officiating. Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Grace Hospice.
