James Carrick Krone

Born August 9, 1935 in E. Lansing, Michigan to Paul and Nedra Krone, Jim enjoyed a wonderful childhood with his sister, Nancy and brother, Geoff. He met his sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Valerie, in high school. A graduate of Michigan State University and a former Captain in the U.S. Army, Jim was privileged to spend much of his professional career working with his father, Paul, in the floriculture industry promoting the care and use of cut flowers, specifically roses. As a second career, Jim worked for the Michigan legislature in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Jim’s two daughters, Jackie and Kerry, are proud to be the children of such an accomplished man. Spending time with his family was Jim’s highest priority. He especially enjoyed time spent at the cottage when everyone was together and fishing with his best fishing buddy, Star. Jim was an outstanding husband, father and friend.
