

He retired from Interstate Highway Construction. He was a model train enthusiast who liked old (and new) Fords.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Andrew Monroe. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nairda (Elliott) Monroe; sons, Jim (Tina) Monroe, Jerry (Cindy) Monroe, Jeff (Tonya) Monroe; daughter, Tami (Randy) Pennington; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 1:00pm at Rowley Wesleyan Church, 3720 Rowley Rd., Williamston, MI. Family will welcome friends on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
