James Martin Siegrist, age 90, of Haslett went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011. He was born to Henry and Mabel (Angell) Siegrist on May 7, 1921. He graduated from Mason High School and proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. His work ethic was reflected in the success of Lansing Tile Company, which he owned and operated.
Jim was an avid golfer, bowler, and outdoorsmen. With his family he enjoyed many activities including trips to Lake Michigan and playing cards. Love for nature and family were expressed in his photographs.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Eva (D’Valentine); his children, Barbara (Dennis) Acker, Suzanne (Charlie) Husby, Linda (Roger) Williams, Carol VanSyckle, Deborah (David) Zwier, James (Tammy) Siegrist; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amy) Acker, Andrew (Lainie) Pavona, Gregory (Jennifer) Acker, Theresa (Robbie) DeSmith, Brian (Heather) Pavona, Brad VanSyckle,Angela (Jason) Michels, Kelli (Josh) Holben, Danielle (Craig) Akers, Derek Zwier, Shannon Williams; and 11 great grandchildren; sister Barbara (Harold) Vosler, sister-in-law Fran Valentine, brother-in-law Frank Hamlin; several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m.Monday, June 13 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, East Lansing with Fr. Mark Inglot officiating with the family receiving friends ½ hour prior. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing from 4-6 pm on Sunday, June 12 with a rosary at 6:00pm.
Memorial contributions may be given to Sparrow St. Lawrence-Campus Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or V.F.W. Post 701.
