John William Angell, age 73, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 17, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born April 27, 1940, the son of Paul and Catharine Angell in Dearborn, MI.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University. Upon graduation, John worked in Sales and Marketing for the Oldsmobile division of General Motors, where he retired after 34 years.
His loves were his family, his dogs, golf, and all things MSU (we know he will be rooting for the Spartans in the Rose Bowl). He will be remembered as a loving and compassionate man with a quirky sense of humor. He enjoyed gazing at the butterflies in the garden and long walks with the dogs.
John is survived by his wife, Deborah; his son, Jeffrey (Sonya); grandsons, Thomas and Matthew; step-granddaughter, Alexandra; special sister-in-law, Tina; in-laws, Drucila, Dave, Diane, Don, and Phyllis; and former wife, Judy Kelleher. Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Caroline.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Kellogg Center (Michigan State University), 219 S. Harrison Road, East Lansing, Michigan 48824. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Humane Society. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing Chapel.
