
John was born on February 22, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Norman Lincoln and Elmira Edith (Euler) Trebilcock. John grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was a lifelong Packers fan. He graduated from Washington High School in 1966. He attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Communications. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
John had a 37 year career working for the State of Michigan in various financial management positions. He could often be found working with Habitat for Humanity as a crew leader. He
enjoyed construction projects and was a wonderful teacher, guiding volunteers in many successful projects.
John married Mary Frances Curran on December 19, 1968, in East Lansing, Michigan. Together they had two amazing children. Julie (Eric) Swager, and James (Kelsey) Trebilcock. John and Mary enjoyed nine grandchildren. Graham Wagner, Mason Wagner, Zebedee Swager, Leo Swager, Karl Swager, Hoyt Swager, Marie Swager, Wyatt Trebilcock, and Carter Trebilcock. John also had many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Leanne Trebilcock.
John was a Simple Disciple of Christ and a member of the Haslett Community Church. He greatly enjoyed serving God’s people through his Habitat for Humanity work, fishing, helping his neighbors, and spending time with his family. Donations can be made to the Haslett Community Church Food Pantry.
A service will be held at Haslett Community Church August 2, 2026, at 1pm
