John Nicholas Williams III passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was born May 20, 1947 to John N. and Katherine (Wheeler) Williams Jr. John loved his work at Pratt and Whitney AutoAir and passionately pursued his career there for over 45 years, retiring in 2012. He was a talented golfer, a gifted gardener, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and trips to the cabin at Torch Lake. He was incredibly smart – a “Professor of Practice” in many different arenas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Shawn O’Loane.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeannine Williams; his children, John N. (Melissa) Williams IV, William “Bill” (Kimberly) Williams, and Chad (Anita) Williams Lycos; his stepchildren, Jeffrey O’Loane and Wendy O’Loane; his grandchildren, Pepper Williams, Kelsey, Peter, and Nicholas Lycos, Brandon, Carter, and Bradley Williams, Aiden and Avery Kersten, Rebecka Smith, and Jacob Weir; his four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ernie (Ellen) Williams, Kris (Deb) Williams, and Loismarie (John) Newhouse.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 2pm until 4pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. in East Lansing.
Memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to the American Heart Association or the Capitol Area Humane Society.
