Josephine ‘Dee’ Thomas, age 82, of East Lansing, MI passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was born in Lansing on January 13, 1929. Dee attended Resurrection High School and was active in her high school reunions. She worked at Jacobson’s Department Store and loved helping her customers. Dee loved her God, church, children, gardening and music. She was well known for her great humor, spiritual wisdom and compassion.
Dee is survived by her daughters, Claire McMahon-Thomas, Joanne Gaskin, Susan Nickel-Gregory, and son, Rob Thomas; sisters, Eileen (Sam) Christianson-Fortino, Mae Hostetler; and brothers, Joe (Marilyn) McMahon and Jim McMahon. She deeply loved her 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI on Thursday, August 4, at 11:00 am with Rev Mark Inglot officiating.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, on Wednesday, August 3, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with a Scripture reading at 7:30 pm.
