Judy Ann Welling

Mrs. Judy Ann Welling, née Norris, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan, just days before her 71st birthday. Born on August 27, 1954, in DeWitt, Michigan, Judy lived a life marked by generosity, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A proud graduate of DeWitt High School’s Class of 1972, Judy went on to build a career as a clerical secretary supporting bank executives and tax attorneys. While she was dedicated to her professional responsibilities, she was best known for her cherished role as a devoted mother and grandmother—a title she held with pride and love.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Paul L. Welling; her son, Kyle M. Welling; and her grandson, Easton R. Welling. She also leaves behind many other loving family members who will continue to honor her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lorraine Norris, and her mother-in-law, Edith M. Welling.

Judy had a passion for collecting teddy bears of all kinds—whether plush or decorative statues—and found joy in the simple pleasures of life like browsing thrift shops and garage sales or indulging in the festive spirit of Christmas shopping. Her giving nature was evident to all who knew her; she was the kind of person who would gladly give you her last dollar if it meant easing your burden. Making others happy brought her true happiness.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who provided compassionate care during Judy’s final days. Special thanks go to McLaren Hospital caregivers as well as the dedicated healthcare professionals at Henry Ford Leslie Family Medicine; Sparrow Diabetes & Endocrinology; Fresenius Kidney Care in Lansing; McLaren/Ingham Nephrology & Hypertension; Capital Infectious Disease Associates in Lansing; and all others who supported Judy throughout the years.

May Judy’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 14, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Sycamore Village Clubhouse 900 W. Columbia St. Located in Sycamore Village Trailer Park in Mason, MI
