Karen Jean Evans, age 55, of Okemos, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 after a five year struggle with cancer. Karen was born January 10, 1963 in Muskegon, Michigan to Robert and Betty Knudson.
Karen moved to Arizona to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems and then went to work for General Dynamics in San Diego, California, where she met Robert, her future husband. They transferred to New Hampshire and got married there. The couple then moved to the Oak Ridge, Tennessee area where they spent 21 years before moving to Michigan five years ago.
Karen loved knitting, cats, photography, and horses. Right now, somewhere over the rainbow, she sits in an easy chair knitting to her heart’s content with a favorite cat on her lap, one that doesn’t play with the yarn while she’s knitting. Outside, walking lazily in the sun, is a palomino horse.
But our conversation is not yet over; surviving are her husband of 27 years, Robert, her sister Debbie Woods, and 5 nieces, 4 grand nieces, and 2 grand nephews.
In keeping with Karen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
