Kris Donald Ridenour

Kris had many dimensions to him. The most important one was the love for his family. If you were one of his family members or friends, he would be there for you no matter what. Two of his greatest gifts were marrying his wife Wendy and later the birth of his daughter Chelsea who was the light of his life. He loved being her dad and watching her grow up. When life got more difficult for him, Chelsea and Zachary blessed him with his granddaughter Myla. Myla brought the spark and joy back into his life when he needed it the most. Much of his time was spent with his granddaughter adventuring through nature collecting pine cones and mushroom hunting on his side by side. Other times, he and Myla would stare up at the sky or watch the birds and squirrels flutter and scurry around the yard. Indoors, they would eat their favorite snacks and watch Myla’s shows. Myla could get him to do things that no one else could do. When asked, his greatest accomplishment was being married to Wendy, being a father to Chelsea, and papa to Myla.

Kris loved riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed landscaping and planting his vegetable garden. One thing is for sure, Kris lived his life to the fullest and did things on his terms.

Another dimension of Kris was his humor. No one could make you laugh harder or smile bigger than he could. There was never a family gathering that he wasn’t the entertainment, which will be missed by us all.

He is survived by his wife Wendy, daughter Chelsea (Zachary) and granddaughter Myla Madejek, siblings Melinda Sue Lard (Jim), Kerrie Lang (Russell), Kurt Ridenour, Scott Lipka (Kari), Barb Flick, Michael Lipka (Nicole) and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his bonus dad Darrel Slanker and stepmother Doris Ridenour, father-in-law Michael Block, and brother-in-law Troy Block.

He was preceded in death by his mother Danielle Slanker, father Robert J. Ridenour, and his mother-in-law Linda Block.

A celebration of life will be held on July 12th, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the family’s home. More information will be provided at a later date.
