

Laurence Charles Curley of East Lansing, formerly of Dearborn, Michigan passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 10, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, to Kieran and Mae (Garner) Curley. He lived much of his life in the Dearborn area, where he and his wife Delores (Barr) raised their family. Laurence proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a longtime member of the Detroit Yacht Club, a former member of St. Aloysius Parish in Detroit and Duns Scotus in Detroit. He loved his family, and was proud of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Delores (Barr) Curley; his daughters, Ann Marie (Burton Schwartz) Curley and Joan (David) Curley-Vigor; his son, Michael (Kathleen) Curley; his grandchildren, Miriam Schwartz, Aaron Curley, Jacob Curley, Ruth Curley, Josiah Curley, Teresa Vigor, and Daniel Vigor; his two brothers, Joseph Curley and Robert Curley; his special nephew, Austin Bowling; and the Khoury, Moore, Tyskiewicz, and Curley families, to whom he was an uncle.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing with visitation one hour prior to the mass. The family will also receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, with a Scripture Service to be held at 8:30 pm. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery on Monday, June 15, 2015.
