Laurie Ann Ludington

Laurie Ann Ludington, 67, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Hospice House of Mid Michigan on September 17, 2026. Born October 15, 1958, in Lansing, Michigan, Laurie devoted her life to the steady work of caring for others and to the quiet joys of time spent outdoors and with family.

Laurie graduated from East Lansing High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Her commitment to service found enduring expression in her career as a social worker, retiring from the State of Michigan Child Protective Services, where she brought diligence, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to the families she served.

Laurie found joy in photography, camping, and spending time at the lake. She also enjoyed golf, football tailgating, and gardening—simple pleasures that reflected her appreciation for both community and the natural world. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially holiday gatherings and special events. Having an October birthday, Fall was her favorite time of year. Even in the most ordinary moments, she carried a bright, joyful spirit—quick to laugh, unafraid to be a little goofy, and always able to lighten a room without diminishing the seriousness of what mattered.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Madelene Rundle; infant siblings, Robert and Stephanie; sister-in-law, Cheryl Rundle; and espoused, Larry Lee Lott.

Surviving are her siblings, Christopher Rundle, Craig (Ann) Rundle, Mark Rundle, Michele Rundle, Elise (Terri Orr) Rundle; former husband, David Ludington; step-son, Justin (Jackie) Ludington; grandchildren, Lisa and David Ludington; nieces and nephews, Katie (Mark), Brian, Travis (Sarah), Troy (Alison); and grandnieces and grandnephews, Tommy, Lily, Tyler, Rachel, and Grant.

According to Laurie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice House of Mid Michigan or American Cancer Society.
