In loving memory of Lenore (Lamb) Cooper, born in Lorain, OH, September 28, 1921, to parents Lorena (Pilon) and LeRoy Lamb (step-father Fredrick Kirsch). Lenore died October 6, 2012 in Okemos, MI in the home built by her husband Charles, who preceded her in death in 2005. She was raised in Detroit, MI and employed by the U.S. Lake Survey, Corps of Engineers until her marriage to Charles Cooper, A.M.M. 1/c U.S. N. in Miami, FL in 1945.
They moved to the Dietz-Cooper family farm in Alaiedon Township in 1946 and have lived in the township since that time.
She was a member of the W. Alaiedon Ladies Aide, a 4-H leader for 20 years and a member of the Williamston Center United Methodist Church. She and her husband lovingly raised five daughters; Kathleen (Bruce) Medaugh of Delton, Suzanne (James) Lundy of Onondaga, Christine (Dean) Hitchcock of Mason, Candice (Paul) Greinke of Allendale and Lenore Wieschowski of Virginia; grandchildren Richard (Sonia) Medaugh, Kyle (Christine) Medaugh, Christine Fronczak, Elizabeth (Jon) Smith, Cameron and Branden Greinke, Anna (Joshua) EldenBrady and Steven Wieschowski and great-grandchildren Talia Smith, Abigail Medaugh, Patrick Medaugh and Lucille EldenBrady.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will receive friends Monday, October 8, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Avenue, Lansing, MI 48906 in memory of Lenore. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing, MI.
