Lisa Ann Barth passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021. She was born to Emil J. and Mary L. Barth on April 5, 1952 and grew up in Brick, New Jersey. Even after moving to Michigan in 1986, New Jersey was still “home”.
Lisa worked for Sparrow Hospital for twenty years, working the last fifteen for Sparrow Hospice and was a fierce advocate for Veterans in their care.
Lisa was an avid quilter and many of us were lucky enough to be gifted one of her handmade quilts. She loved reading, listening to music, and watching old episodes of The Lawrence Welk Show. She collected hundreds of teapots from friends, yard sales or resale shops and could tell you where each one was from.
Gemma, Leah, Owen, and Esme simply new her as “Granny” which was by far her favorite role. Everything she did was for her grandchildren. She made them hands down the best Halloween costumes, taught them sewing and crafts and always brought her “Granny Bag” full of treats.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father Emil, her mother Mary and her sister, Marybeth. Lisa is survived by her daughters Kristen Nickson (Philip), Lauren Kushion (Brian), her brother Emil Barth, her nieces and nephews Beth, Christine, Michael, Emil and her grandchildren, Gemma, Leah, Owen and Esme.
A Celebration of Life will be held in May. For those wishing to, donations can be made to Sparrow Hospice, the American Legion or Wounded Warriors Project.
