I love Lois and speak about her work as a librarian many times every year in the classes I teach at California State University Dominguez Hills.
When students came in for library time at Donley Elementary, she had a stack of books next to her.  She would have students sit on the carpet together while she gave book talks telling the students about the stories in the books.  Then the kids would dive to try to get a book she introduced to them. 
She is one of the angels who help students read, think, and wonder about the world in stories and informational books.  I know God will bless her legacy in the students that she touched.  I know she touched me.

I had only known her for a little over a month because I was one of her caregivers. She had made each one of my work days so much brighter. I am so sad that's shes gone, but I am so thankful I had got to meet Lois.

What an absulute gem of a person.  The world would be such a better place if there were more like her.  My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

I worked with Lois at Donley for many years. She was the very image of a librarian: devoted to books and their readers, quiet, precise (she was the go--to for proofreading), and kind. As happens with people who make such an impact,  legends arose around her. l can't vouch for its truthfulness, but one goes like this:  a man returned to Donley after years and years. He brought back a long overdue book from his schooldays thinking to very much surprise Lois.  As the story goes, she turned the joke back on him:  she calmly took out her overdue notebook, paged back, found the notation, and carefully drew a line through it, as though she had never doubted that it would be returned. 

She was ever the proud mother, eager to share the latest news about her  daughters with the staff. My sympathy goes out to the family at this time of loss, memory  and reflection.

The world could use a lot more like Lois.

I remember Mrs. Hudson so well from my years as a Donley student. She was never other than gentle, kind, and helpful.

Lois was such a sweet, kind person who thought only of others. The world has lost a genuinely lovely human being. My sympathy is with her family.

Lois was the kindest, most generous, caring person there was.  With a heart full of love, she would do anything for anybody.  How fortunate for Lori & Judy that she was also the best mother anyone could have.  How rich the rest of us are for knowing her.  Lois will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

We have such fond memories of Lois.  She was a delight.  Four of our five children knew her at Donley, and they loved her.  We send our prayers for comfort and strength to the family at this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers to all her family...Mrs Hudson was my 2nd Mom and one of the most selfless, caring and nurturing women I knew...a wonderful mother, devoted wife, lover of animals and a very intelligent woman who passed all these lovely qualities onto her daughters.   Smiles, laughter and song were her daily regime and always thoughts for what others might need.  We will miss her always but know that she is still with us in our hearts.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Lois' loving family. I have such fond memories of Lois from the years of working with her at Donley school in East Lansing from 1967-1974. A sweeter person could not be found. Her dedication to her family, friends and job was exemplary. With my love and prayers.
