Lois Catherine Walker

Lois Catherine Walker, age 98, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 28, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1925, in Ontario, Canada, to Wesley and Linda McCuaig. Lois was a world traveler, adventurous, faithful, and loving. She attended high school in Montreal, Canada.

Lois was a dedicated homemaker and a member of the HELO Club and the Presbyterian Church of Okemos. She found joy and fulfillment in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Lois had a deep love for her family and cherished spending time with them.

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce E. Walker, her siblings Helen McCuaig and Norma Owen, her son Brian Walker, her son-in-law Jeff Kennedy, and her parents Wesley and Linda McCuaig. She is survived by her son Donald (Sally) Walker, daughters Dianne Walker and Susan Tigner, daughter-in-law Adele Walker, and her grandchildren Lance (Jennifer) Walker, Clint (Jennifer) Walker, Brian (Heidi) Walker, Heather Walker, Nicholas Walker-Craig, Matthew Walker, Kyle (Molly) Walker, Katie Walker, Cassandra Walker, Andrew Tigner, Glenn Tigner, and Grant Tigner.

In her free time, Lois enjoyed traveling the world and even swam the Great Barrier Reef at the age of 80. She also had a passion for bowling, golfing, and participating in 5K marathons. Lois loved everything about the Canadian wilderness and spent much time at her family cottages in Northern Ontario. She was even still jumping in the cold waters of Lake Matinenda well into her early 90's.

The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman (Tiffany Chapel), 3232 W. Saginaw St., Lansing, Thursday from 3-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Okemos, 2258 Bennett Rd., Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Rose Cemetery in Bath. Contributions in Lois's memory may be made to the HELO Club or the Presbyterian Church of Okemos.
