Lucille T. Opdyke Okemos

Born on December 10, 1923, she went home to her Lord and Savior and to her husband of 59 years, Hal on May 14, 2014. She started out married life with a career in Nursing after graduating from the Sparrow Hospital Nursing Program in 1946. After nearly 10 years in the nursing profession she gave it up to be the world’s best mom and homemaker. She is survived by her three children, Dolores (Dell) Brokaw, Nancy (Tom) Logan and Terry Opdyke (Val Suszko), her 5 grandchildren; Amy, Ian, Elizabeth, Katie and Jason, and her 3 great-grandchildren Lyric, Amirrah and Jonathan, and her only sibling, sister, Dolores Hotchkin. Her kind words and loving nature will be in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 16, 6-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing with services being held Saturday, May 17, 2014, 10 am at the funeral home. Internment will be following the service at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.
