

Lynn Oren Morgan, 85 years old, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, in East Lansing, Michgan. Lynn is preceeded in death by his mother and father, William and Celia (Griswold) Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Watson) Morgan; son, Andrew (Christie) William Morgan; daughters, Laurie (Kevin) Duits, Beth (Michael) Bath and Jamie (Michael) Gentoso; sisters, Billie (Morgan) Wells and Sheila (Morgan) Canty as well as grandchildren, Keven (Tammy) Numinen, Paul (Kristen) Numinen, Morgan (Phillip) McEwen, Eric (Alli) Edge, Spencer (Rebecca) Duits, Ryan Morgan, Taylor (Laurah) DeMar, Cassidy Morgan, Alisa Cherry, Cameron Bath, Addison Gentoso, Luca Gentoso, Noelle Gentoso and many great-grandchildren.
Lynn joined the United States Navy in 1953 and accompanied Admiral Byrd on his last expedition to the Antarctic as part of Operation Deep Freeze, from November of 1955 until April of 1956, aboard the U.S.S. Glacier.
Lynn was a member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose Lodges, Elks Lodge, The Rotary Club, the Lansing Federation of Musicians, Michigan Mechanical Board, and Plumbers & Fitters Local 388. Lynn was also a trustee of the Lansing MCA, trustee of the joint Health & Welfare trust, with LMCA, and chaired the Joint Apprentice Training Committee.
Lynn loved music, played multiple instruments, and was a member of multiple bands that performed throughout Michigan. Lynn loved boating, owned a charter boat company in Saugatuck, Michigan, and was a member of the Singapore Yacht Club for approximately 35 years.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Immediately following the funeral service, Lynn will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath, Michigan. Luncheon to follow at Coral Gables in East Lansing, Michigan, beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 25th, 2019.
