Margaret Ann Linton

Margaret Ann Linton, born October 6, 1922 to Clarence and Margaret (King) Nichol, passed away on December 5, 2013 at the age of 91. Margaret was a 1940 graduate of Midland High School and 1944 graduate of Harper Hospital School of Nursing. She was also a member of the first U.S. Army Nurse Cadet Class in 1944. In 1946 she married Wayne Linton and they enjoyed 50 years and 2 days together. Margaret loved to garden and read. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, in 1996 and her daughter, Diane Kokkonen, in 2010. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce (Randall) Fior of Brentwood, TN and David (Roxanne) Linton of Vicksburg, MI; son-in-law, John Kokkonen; grandchildren, Allan (Danielle) Kokkonen, Sara (Tony) Vallette, Leslie (Jordan) Trayers, Kaitlyn (Chris Hicks) Linton, Michael and Jennifer Fior; and great-grandchildren, Amaya, Joshua and Kael. Funeral services for Mrs. Linton will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Lansing Chapel, 1730 East Grand River Avenue. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contribution to the Okemos Educational Foundation, 4406 N. Okemos Rd., Okemos, MI 48864, in memory of Margaret Ann Linton.
