Marilyn DeGroot Casler

Marilyn was an RN and worked on the Addictions Unit at St. Lawrence Hospital for 30 years. Marilyn had a great sense of humor. She loved reading, the beach, lighthouses, shells, and her weekly lunch at Olive Garden. She adored her family, especially her grandkids. Marilyn will be remembered by all as kind, loving, supportive and encouraging.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret; brother, Alan; and grandson, Charles. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Dave; children, Jon (Debbie Kekel) DeGroot, David (Dalice) DeGroot, Mark (Susan) DeGroot; grandchildren, Mandi, Crystal (Matt) McConnell, Nick (Melissa), Kristen, Ian, Brenna (Adam) Zalewski, Sam, Audrey, Jonathon; great grandson, Charlie; siblings, Patrick and Joanie; step-daughter, Cristal; and many friends.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing, MI. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Those desiring may make donations in memory of Marilyn to Make A Wish Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
