Born in Oxford, England, June 6, 1929.
Died in East Lansing, Michigan on December 19, 2015.
Mary was married for 56 years to Herbert Burks, Jr. and is survived by one son, David, a daughter, Laura (Bruce) and family, three grandchildren; Sam, Caroline, and Bruce-Michael, and Mary’s daughter, Valerie and her fiancé, Rick of Marquette.
Mary especially enjoyed her years as an art teacher. She was an Associated Bible Student and her favorite prayer: Thy Kingdom on earth so that thy will is done, even as it is in Heaven.Her wishes are for cremation with ashes scattered in beautiful spot near home here in Michigan. A celebration of Mary’s life will be planned at Burcham Hills, Mary’s home, in the spring and will be announced in the newspaper.
