Joan was born in Detroit, MI on August 31, 1928 to parents, William F. & Edith M. Hutchins. She graduated from Ferndale’s Lincoln High School in 1946 and completed her Bachelor’s degree in 1968 from Oakland University. Joan was then a successful educator in Royal Oak, MI. Following retirement, she enjoyed quilting, Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, book club, and attending Detroit Symphony concerts, just to name a few. Joan was also a philanthropist, contributing to many charitable organizations.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Paula G. (nee Tucker) Richardson (Allen); grandchildren, Abigail (nee Richardson) Livingston (Jacob), Mary E. Richardson, and David W. Richardson. Also surviving are three great-grandsons, Josiah, Hezron, and Tobias Livingston; stepdaughter, Carol (nee Mangiaracina) Huntsbarger (Daniel); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley I. Tuck; first husband, Lyman Ray Tucker; and second husband, Peter Mangiaracina.
