Melvin Paul Schaubroeck passed away on June 8, 2011. He was born on October 7, 1933 to Achiel and Martha Schaubroeck. After graduating from Alleman High School in Rock Island, IL, Melvin enlisted in the Air Force and served from ’53-’57. He married Carol Berge in 1958. They lived in East Moline for 40 years and moved to Michigan in 2008. Melvin worked in information and computing services for International Harvester for several years and for the remainder of his career at McLaughlin Body Company in Moline. Melvin was a member of St. Ann’s Church in East Moline. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his brothers, Raymond and Harold.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Carol; his sons, Stephen (Shannon) and John (Lai), by his sister Virginia Bergman, and brothers Clarence and James (Sharon) Schaubroeck, and 6 grandchildren: Kelcie, Cole, Sawyer and Maverick Schaubroeck and Jack and Joseph Schaubroeck; sister-in-law Joan Anderson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
