Born August 25, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan, passed away February 8, 2014 at his home in Okemos, Michigan at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marsha (Howell) and daughters, Alison K. and Lauren E. Chance. He is also survived by his sisters, Peggy and Pam Chance and other loving relatives.
Miles is preceded in death by his parents Winton and Margaret Chance of Sault Ste. Marie.
Miles was a 1969 graduate of Parkside High School in Jackson; 1971 graduate of Kellogg Community College and 1973 graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit. He was in management at Jacobson’s, owner of M. Chance Flyfishing Specialities and parts specialist at Ideal Group. In addition to being a devoted family man, Miles was a known “man’s man”, an avid fly fisherman, hunter, gardener, entrepreneur and adventurer who brought a sharp wit, honesty and creativity to every endeavor. Miles was also an Eagle Scout.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 15, 11:00 a.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Okemos, 2258 Bennett Rd, Okemos.
