Miriam L. Baaso,of East Lansing, MI;born Miriam Louise Weber on December 30, 1924 in Detroit, MI, Miriam passed away on January 26, 2013 at the age of 88 years. She grew up during the depression and endured World War II. Like most young women her age, she did her part for the "war effort" by working in munitions and aircraft factories. After the war Miriam met and married Norman Baaso. She was his loving wife for 63 years, until he passed away last July. Miriam devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Miriam is survived by daughters Carolyn (Edward) Tobin, Cheryl (John) Cogo; grandsons, Charles Meluch, Thomas (Brittany) Meluch and Mark Cogo; granddaughter Ellen (James IV) Willis; great-grandsons James V and Benjamin Willis; sisters Ruth Wilkowski and Gloria Recchia; and brother Alfred Weber.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 12 noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue in East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
