Was born October 26, 1928 in Punjab, India to Harbans Singh and Amrit Kaur Bhatia. She came to Michigan in 1971. Mohinder was a Montessori teacher who enjoyed working with children. Her greatest joy was being a foster grandmother where she worked well into her 80’s. She was a devout Sikh and enjoyed Gurbani and Spiritual music.
She married in 1952 to her late husband Ajit Singh Bhatia and is survived by her children, Anita Tokhie (Sarabjit) and Desh Deepak Bhatia (Rachna). Also surviving are her brothers Avtar Singh Bhatia, Satpal Singh Bhatia, Interpal Singh Bhatia; sister Surinder Kaur Bhatia and her grandchildren, Jasmine, Harnoor, Aman and Harlori.

Religious services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.
