Age 61, loving father, brother, uncle, best friend, unexpectedly passed on September 13, 2012. Paul was born January 22, 1951 to parents, John and Bernadette Peterson of Haslett, Michigan, and lived his entire life in the community of Haslett.
He was employed at the Charter Township of Meridian in the Public Works Department for 30 plus years, retiring in 2006. In retirement, Paul enjoyed umpiring for the township Parks and Recreation Dept. and working with Graff Automotive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James R. Peterson. He is survived by his daughter, Ashlee (Ryan) DeDuijtsche of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Matthew Peterson of Haslett; brother R. Kevin (Nancy) Peterson of Morrice; sisters Mary Ann Peterson, Ellen (Don) Passage of Haslett and Jane (Ron) Gilbert of Arden Hills, MN; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, with Rev. Mark Inglot presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends Monday, September 17, 5-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
