A lifelong Michigan resident, Peter spent most of his life in Bay City before moving to live with his brother, John, in Haslett, Michigan. Peter was a quiet man who loved the escapism found in science fiction and fantasy. He particularly enjoyed the original Star Trek series and Svengoolie specials. In addition to reading and watching old movies and television shows, Peter enjoyed spending time in his garage tinkering with all manner of electronics, cars, and other gadgetry. Peter had an uncanny ability to keep even the crankiest of cars running. Peter did everything at his own pace, at a rhythm of life unique to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Veenstra; his brothers John Robert Veenstra, Charles Douglas Veenstra, and Roger Veenstra. He is survived by his nephew, Robert Jospeh Veenstra (along with Erica Begun-Veenstra and Jackson Veenstra).
No funeral services will be held at this time.
