Age 52, passed away February 8, 2014. Following a wonderful evening celebrating his niece’s wedding, Randy lost his battle with cancer and died peacefully at his home.

Randy was born August 7, 1961 in Williamsport, PA. to H. Lawrence and Norma Jean (Marshall) Swartz. He graduated from Haslett High School in 1979 and later attended Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, MI. He was employed in his family’s business, America by Rail. He was an active musician in the local music scene, a passionate music collector, as well as an avid MSU Spartan fan.

He is survived by his father, H. Lawrence and step-mother, Nancy Swartz; brother Timothy (Denise) Swartz; sister, Cynthia (Robin) Copland; nephew Joel Swartz and niece Corrine (Jason) Soave.

Randy will be missed by his loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
