Born in 1923 to Howard W. and Lena (Winebrenner) Schnuth in Rochester, PA, Raymond was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan Canada. He entered the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW2 and was a bombardier flying many missions over Europe to drop paratroops. He obtained a teaching degree at the University of Saskatchewan upon his discharge from the RCAF and married Marion E. Colter in 1946. They moved to Minneapolis where he obtained a Master of Education degree and was a reservist in the US Air Force. He began working for Western Auto where he remained in various capacities for 23 years. He left Western Auto and worked for Waterfield Mortgage Company in Fort Wayne, until his retirement in the 1980’s.
Raymond was a wonderful gardener and treated his neighbors to many of his vegetables, raspberries and flowers through the years. The last years of Marion’s life in East Lansing, he was her primary caregiver as she struggled with Alzheimer’s and insisted on keeping her home with him until her passing. His love and dedication to his wife was unsurpassed for 67 years.
He is survived by his loving daughter Rae Lee Schnuth and his grandson, Keith Johnson who loved his Papa dearly, his two brothers Howard (Bud) Schnuth and William Schnuth and many nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by son Howard Thomas, his wife Marion and his sister June Culham.

His family would like to thank all family, friends and colleagues who have supported them during the years. Raymond was a joy to have and will be so greatly missed. He was a wonderful father and friend to his daughter and loving Papa to Keith.
