Richard L. “Dick” Haviland Haslett, Michigan

Born February 17, 1925 in Lansing Township to Clifton and Mary (Berridge) Haviland, Sr. Dick passed away on June 15, 2013 at the age of 88. He served in the US Marine Corp during World War II and retired from the Lansing Board of Water and Light after 30 years of employment. He was a lifetime member of the Haslett American Legion Post #0269 and played Minor League baseball from 1947 to 1950. He enjoyed his family immensely and loved spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie L. Haviland, September 28, 2009. Surviving are his daughters Lori (John) Kelley and Jody (Warren) Kimble, both of Haslett; sons James (Sherry McNally) Haviland of Mt. Morris and Richard C. (Lisa) Haviland of Haslett; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave. with Rev. Stephen Ezop officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 865 S. Cedar, Mason, MI 48854 in memory of Dick.
