To the Lund family, I am terribly sorry to hear about both Kathy and Ricks passing.  Both were incredible people and an inspiration to family, life and fun.  I first met Rick in the late 90's when he recruited me to work at CADE industries.  What a journey, what a mentor what a competitor.  He trained me for all of the 5K's and yes always beat me.  There were many great memories of Rick, but my fondest was at corporate office and upon Ricks energetic arrival through the double doors he would storm into my office and ask "did she reply"?  At the time, I was emailing back and forth for a few months with my now beautiful wife.  Rick was instrumental in supporting my responses as he paced back and forth behind me.    Fast forward and we now have 3 wonderful kids.    Rick, you and Kathys love left a lasting impression on Marni and I and we often reminisce about the good old days.   From the evening I showed up at Rick and Kathy's home for dinner after making the 12 hour hike to join CADE  to the sale of CADE and beyond, Rick was always there for me.   Love you Rick.

We, Rick's walking friends are sad to hear of his passing. We had so much fun walking in Valhalla Park. The one picture is Rick bringing donuts.

My family had the pleasure of being Rick’s neighbors in recent years, and he was such a kind and friendly presence on our street. He made friends quickly with everyone on the block and was always ready with a welcoming smile and good humor. We enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren and his many life adventures. My sincere condolences. He will be missed by many and fondly remembered.

Our brother, Rick was the youngest of the 5 brothers.  Our parents moved all 9 of us to Marinette WI from Rhinelander WI for our dad’s work when we were young. Rick and the rest of us attended Catholic schools, he going on to Catholic Central High School where he excelled in sports, both in basketball and as a standout in track running the mile, breaking records. I remember attending his sporting events with my parents throughout  his high school career. He met his love of his life and soon to be wife Kathy there. Rick continued to be an excellent athlete throughout his life. Rick worked hard to complete college and support his young family.  He excelled in business and advanced quickly throughout his career.  He was extremely personable to anyone he met and always ready for a conversation no matter with who.  A true gentleman.  Good traits I like to think he inherited from our Irish mother. Rick loved his family deeply and was very proud of each one, Lisa, Brian and Beth and his grandchildren.  He fought his battle with strength and courage. He will be deeply missed by all of us.  Rest in peace Rick. You and Kathy are together again.

I wrote a condolence underneath one of the pictures. Our neighbors next-door were the lawns until 1997. Our children, Brian and Beth, Mike and Melissa were all friends and went to the Holt schools. They were like family as we lived next-door to each other until 1997, when we move to Colorado. Rick stood up for my son Mike in confirmation and Kathy stood up for my daughter Melissa for confirmation. The next year, My kids dad stood up for Brian and I stood up for Beth in confirmation I have kept in touch with Beth over the years since Kathy passed, before that Kathy and I always talked a few times a year, especially around her birthday which would’ve been in July and so is mine. I love this family. If I still lived in Michigan, I certainly would be with the family at this time. I will be with them in my thoughts and prayers.

My heartfelt condolences to the Lund family. I was blessed to have reconnected with Rick these past several months as my mother was his neighbor at American House Meridan.  He was a pleasure to work with (in one of his numerous board member roles), and an inspirational business mentor. I also had the pleasure of working with his son Brian many years ago.
